Sarah & Connor

Sarah and Connor's love story is actually a slightly personal achievement: I inadvertently brought them together when I invited Sarah to a 30th birthday party that I didn't want to go to alone.

"We met because of you. He proposed that night in 2017," she remembers. "The real one was February 2021. We were wildly hungover, in Daylesford. He handed me a plate of oysters whilst I was in the hot tub, and the ring was in the middle of them."

As friends for almost a decade, Sarah has been my biggest fan and supporter since day one of this bumpy business ride, and the couple agreed in the early days of Maison de Femmes to shoot my first campaign. It was coincidentally the beginning of their courtship, and Connor, an award-winning Creative Director, jumped at the chance to photograph Sarah wearing my designs.

"Jess created some custom made earrings for the day. A hoop, with a dropped pearl, and included our birthstones. Jess you're incredible, thank you, and I love you and your business."

So when they decided it was time to tie the knot, I was thrilled to be asked by Sarah to create custom earrings for their (three!) weddings.
Yes, three!
The bride wore a classic gown from Grace Loves Lace to all three of her weddings.
Their first wedding was back in Sarah's home country of Wales, surrounded by her friends and family, followed by a dreamy Italian honeymoon. The theme was just being together, with 'a hint of medieval castle'.
"My favourite part was walking into the ceremony and seeing all the people I’ve loved most, and at the end when we were back in the hotel room with my brother, maid of honour, husband, and great friend until 3:30am."

The Sarah Earrings, available with your choice of Initial or genuine Birthstone Charm add on.
The second was a low-key offical affair at Melbourne Town Hall.
And the final wedding was a larger celebration in the bush at the Sokil Eco-Retreat in Melbourne's west.
Sarah wanted minimal, classic pearl hoops, so I made a selection of custom pieces for her to choose from. I wanted them to feel a bit more special than an off-the-rack set, and created two personalised designs using their Initials and Birthstones.
Sarah chose birthstones to represent herself and Connor: the July Ruby Birthstone and the August Peridot Birthstone.

In the end, she went with the Juno Hoops with one July Ruby Birthstone, representing Connor, and one August Peridot Birthstone, to represent herself. The perfect, classic vibe for one of the best couples.
